A Golf battery is not one universal size. Requirements can change between generations, engines and equipment levels. TSI or TDI badges alone do not identify the correct replacement.

Select your model and year range, then check the engine details. Before ordering, confirm the battery dimensions, terminal layout, securing base and required Ah and CCA ratings. If the fitted battery differs from the catalogue recommendation, contact us to check the application.

Does your VW have start-stop?

Start-stop applications may require EFB or AGM technology. Where AGM is specified, use a suitable AGM replacement. Turning start-stop off does not make a conventional battery suitable.

Plan the fitting as well as the purchase

Some Volkswagen vehicles need battery adaptation or registration after replacement. Ask your installer to confirm the procedure for your exact vehicle, particularly if an approved replacement changes the capacity or technology.
